Night life in and around Kaiserslautern offers any sort of distraction for young and old. There are restaurants and you can find lots of bars and some discotheques.

The heart of Kaiserslautern night life is the “Steinstraße”, which is the Old Town. There you can find the “Hannen Fass” (www.hannenfass-kl.de, which invites to meal and drink while listening to rock music. Somebody who likes it more quiet, can find the “St. Martin” there, an atmospheric restaurant. A real insider tip is the “Alte Münz” located in “Mühlstraße”, famous for the plain cooking and low prices. Of course, there are Chinese, Mexican, Italian restaurants and many more in and around Kaiserslautern.

To do some sports you can play billiard at “Bodega - Steinstraße” or bowling at „Planet Bowling - PRE Park”, www.planet-bowling.de. For dancing and celebrating you have the possibilities to go to discotheque (“Nachtschicht”, www.nachtschicht-kaiserslautern.de, close to the train station: Zollamtstraße), a dance café like “Filou” (www.filou-kaiserslautern.de, Martin-Luther-Straße, close to town hall) or other party locations like “Markthalle” (city center) and “Pflaumenbaum” (www.pflaumenbaum-kl.com, Martin-Luther-Straße, close to town hall).

Especially on Saturday evenings the city is full of people from different nations. Looking at the American bars like the “Irish Pub” (Martin-Luther-Straße), the close relation to the Americans becomes obvious.

For those, who don`t want to go to the city, there are a lot of events around Kaiserslautern city like the fun fairs in the villages and other celebrations. Another famous event two times a year is the “Lautrer Kerwe” a really big fun fair.
